nrega.dord.gov.in: the new official NREGA portal, explained

अगर आपने हाल में nrega.nic.in खोला और address बदलकर nrega.dord.gov.in हो गया, तो घबराने की बात नहीं है। यह वही official portal है — Department of Rural Development के नए government address पर। इस guide में पूरा बदलाव आसान भाषा में समझाया गया है।
nrega.dord.gov.in ही अब official NREGA/MGNREGA portal है। पुराना पता nrega.nic.in अपने आप यहीं redirect होता है। आपका job card, list, payment data — सब वही है, कुछ भी दोबारा register करने की ज़रूरत नहीं।
What changed and why (क्या बदला)
The Ministry of Rural Development moved the MGNREGA portal from the old NIC address (nrega.nic.in) to nrega.dord.gov.in, under the Department of Rural Development's gov.in domain. The content, reports and records are the same; only the web address is new. The old address is not dead — it automatically forwards you to the new one.
Your job card number, panchayat list, muster rolls and payment reports have not moved or changed. You do not need to re-apply or re-register anything because of the address change.
Is the site you opened official? (असली portal कैसे पहचानें)
- The address ends in .gov.in or .nic.in — for NREGA it is nrega.dord.gov.in.
- The footer says the content is managed by the Ministry of Rural Development and hosted by NIC.
- The official portal never asks workers for a login, password or fee to view lists and reports.
- If a site with a similar name asks you to pay or log in to see your job card, it is not the government portal.
Using the new portal (नए portal पर list कैसे देखें)
- Open nrega.dord.gov.in in your browser. If you type the old nrega.nic.in, you will land in the same place.
- Go to the reports section, just like before.
- Choose the financial year (2026-27 for current records), then your state, district, block and gram panchayat.
- Open the job card register and search your household name.
Update your saved bookmark or home-screen shortcut to nrega.dord.gov.in so you always land on the current address directly.
Portal errors during the VB-G RAM G transition
The VB-G RAM G Act replaced MGNREGA from 1 July 2026, and government systems are being updated for the new scheme. During this transition some report pages can be slow or show temporary errors. That is a server-side issue, not a problem with your job card. Try again after some time, and rely on your gram panchayat office for anything urgent.

Frequently asked questions
Is nrega.dord.gov.in official?
Yes. It is the current official NREGA/MGNREGA portal of the Ministry of Rural Development. The old address nrega.nic.in redirects to it automatically.
Do I need to register again on the new portal?
No. All job cards, lists and payment records are the same. Only the web address changed; your data did not move or reset.
Why does nrega.nic.in redirect me?

The portal shows an error. Is my job card gone?
