11 मई 2026 को Centre ने VB-G RAM G Act notify किया, और यह 1 जुलाई 2026 से MGNREGA की जगह लागू है। पूरा नाम है Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin)। यह साफ summary है कि क्या बदल रहा है और workers को क्या करना चाहिए।
VB-G RAM G काम की गारंटी 100 से बढ़ाकर 125 दिन करता है, साथ में राज्यों की cost-sharing और digital monitoring लाता है। यह 1 जुलाई 2026 से लागू है। Verified job cards transition के दौरान valid रहेंगे जब तक नए कार्ड न बनें।
What is the new Law? (नया कानून क्या है?)
The Act restructures India's rural employment guarantee. The headline change is more guaranteed days of work. It also brings a faster wage cycle and heavier use of digital tools to monitor works and attendance.

Notified 11 May 2026; in force 1 July 2026. Budget for FY 2026-27 is about ₹95,692 crore, the highest yet for rural employment. Existing e-KYC verified job cards stay valid until new rural employment guarantee cards are issued; no worker is denied work only because e-KYC is pending.
The official portal nrega.nic.in now redirects to nrega.dord.gov.in (Department of Rural Development). Under the new Act a separate VB-G RAM G portal at vbgramg.dord.gov.in is also live. Always confirm at a .gov.in or .nic.in address.

अगर एक portal पर आपका record न मिले तो दूसरा भी देखें, क्योंकि transition के दौरान data दोनों जगह अलग-अलग दिख सकता है। किसी भी संदेह में Ministry की website dord.gov.in पर दी गई सूचना को अंतिम मानें।
Transition के दौरान कई बार portal पर database से जुड़ी error आती है। यह आपके record के गायब होने का संकेत नहीं है, बल्कि data migration की वजह से होता है। थोड़ी देर बाद या अगले दिन दोबारा try करें। इस बीच अपना पुराना job card संभालकर रखें।

कुछ परिवारों को इससे ज़्यादा दिन का हक़ बनता है। वन क्षेत्र के Scheduled Tribe परिवार, जिनके पास Forest Rights Act, 2006 का patta है और वही उनकी इकलौती निजी संपत्ति है, 50 अतिरिक्त दिन के हकदार हैं। आपदा प्रभावित इलाकों के लिए भी सरकार अलग से अतिरिक्त दिन मंज़ूर करती रही है। ये नियम 100 दिन वाले पुराने आधार पर बने थे, इसलिए नए 125 दिन के साथ ये कैसे जुड़ते हैं यह अपनी panchayat से confirm करें।
Opposition members objected to dropping Mahatma Gandhi's name, to making states fund part of the scheme, and to seasonal pauses in work. The law passed despite these objections.
Action Plan for Workers (मजदूरों को अभी क्या करना चाहिए?)
- Keep your job card active and your details correct.
- Make sure your Aadhaar is linked to your bank account.
- Check that your bank account is NPCI-mapped for DBT.
- Watch for official instructions from your gram panchayat about the change.

Is MGNREGA finished?
Yes, it has been replaced. The VB-G RAM G Act was notified on 11 May 2026 and came into force on 1 July 2026. Existing e-KYC verified job cards stay valid until new rural employment guarantee cards are issued, so you do not need to pay anyone to get a new card made.
How many days will be guaranteed?
The new law sets 125 days as the standard guarantee, up from 100 under MGNREGA.
Will my job card still work?
Verified job cards with completed Aadhaar e-KYC are intended to stay valid during the change. Keep your details current.
