11 मई 2026 को Centre ने VB-G RAM G Act notify किया, और यह 1 जुलाई 2026 से MGNREGA की जगह लागू है। पूरा नाम है Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin)। यह साफ summary है कि क्या बदल रहा है और workers को क्या करना चाहिए।

What is the new Law? (नया कानून क्या है?)
The Act restructures India's rural employment guarantee. The headline change is more guaranteed days of work. It also brings a faster wage cycle and heavier use of digital tools to monitor works and attendance.

Notified 11 May 2026; in force 1 July 2026. Budget for FY 2026-27 is about ₹95,692 crore, the highest yet for rural employment. Existing e-KYC verified job cards stay valid until new rural employment guarantee cards are issued; no worker is denied work only because e-KYC is pending.
The official portal nrega.nic.in now redirects to nrega.dord.gov.in (Department of Rural Development). Both open the same official records. Always confirm at the .gov.in or .nic.in address.

Opposition members objected to dropping Mahatma Gandhi's name, to making states fund part of the scheme, and to seasonal pauses in work. The law passed despite these objections.

- Make sure your Aadhaar is linked to your bank account.
- Check that your bank account is NPCI-mapped for DBT.
- Watch for official instructions from your gram panchayat about the change.
