What PMAY-G is
PMAY-G stands for Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Gramin, the rural part of the national housing mission. It replaced the older Indira Awaas Yojana in 2016. The aim is simple: help rural families who live in kutcha or unsafe houses move into a solid, permanent home.

How much help you get
The assistance is paid in instalments directly into the beneficiary's bank account as the house is built. AwaasSoft और Awaas+ क्या हैं
इन दो नामों से लोग अक्सर उलझते हैं, इसलिए साफ़ कर लें। AwaasSoft इस योजना का सरकारी monitoring system है, जिसमें घर की मंज़ूरी, हर किश्त और निर्माण की प्रगति दर्ज होती है। पोर्टल पर आप जो beneficiary list और status देखते हैं, वह इसी system से आता है।
Awaas+ वह सर्वे है जिससे पात्र परिवारों की पहचान होती है। 2024 में मंज़ूर हुए विस्तार के साथ इसी Awaas+ सूची को नए exclusion criteria के साथ अपडेट किया गया, इसलिए पहले छूट गए परिवारों के लिए यही सर्वे दोबारा विचार का रास्ता है। नाम जुड़वाने का काम gram panchayat से होता है और नि:शुल्क है।
Who is eligible
Eligibility is decided from official survey data, not by a simple online form. Families are identified using deprivation data and the Awaas Plus survey, then the list is verified and approved by the Gram Sabha so the village agrees on who genuinely needs a house.
- Rural households without a pucca house, or living in one or two kutcha rooms.
- Families that appear in the official survey and pass the exclusion checks.
- Priority for the most deprived, including SC, ST and others as per the scheme rules.
Selection is rule-based and approved in the Gram Sabha. Nobody can add your name for a fee. If anyone asks for money to put you on the list, report it.
The 2024 expansion
2024 में केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने इस योजना को FY 2024-25 से 2028-29 तक जारी रखने और इस दौरान 2 करोड़ और घर बनाने की मंज़ूरी दी। इसके लिए कुल 3,06,137 करोड़ रुपये का प्रावधान रखा गया, जिसमें केंद्र का हिस्सा 2,05,856 करोड़ और राज्यों का 1,00,281 करोड़ रुपये है। इसी वजह से नए सर्वे हो रहे हैं और सूचियां अपडेट हो रही हैं। अगर आप पहले छूट गए थे तो यही अपडेटेड सर्वे आपके लिए दोबारा विचार का मौका है।
