NREGA muster roll: how to check attendance and days worked online

By Ravi Prakash · Updated 12 June 2026 · 5 min read

Quick answer

What is a muster roll (MR)

A muster roll is the attendance sheet for a single MGNREGA work. Each work gets an MR number, and every worker's daily attendance is marked on it. The number of days on the MR is what your wage is calculated from, so an error here directly affects your payment.

Check your muster roll online

  1. Open the official MGNREGA reports and choose your state, district, block and gram panchayat.
  2. Open the muster roll or MR register report for your panchayat.
  3. Pick the work and the MR number for the period you worked.
  4. Find your name and check the days marked present against what you actually worked.
MR and NMMS attendance

Worksite attendance is now captured through the NMMS app and flows into the muster roll. If your days look wrong, the issue is often a missed NMMS entry. See the attendance guide for that.

If the days are wrong

  • Tell your Mate or gram panchayat immediately with the MR number and dates.
  • Ask whether your NMMS attendance was captured for the missing days.
  • If it is not corrected, raise it with the Programme Officer or the grievance helpline.
